I Am Not Dead

Cate Murphy was born into a loving family in 1963 in Nelson, New Zealand. She strived for freedom, love and non-attachment in her life and work, raising consciousness of these values to life by painting every day even when seriously ill.

Dividing her time between Ireland and New Zealand, Cate ran her own tattooing studio where her clients often became close friends. Her open, loving nature meant she had close friends across the world.

Cate was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2005, and with liver metastasis in 2012. Chemotherapy, radiation and successive operations gave her happy and productive years until 2017 when she declined further treatment. Cate passed away on March 16th the following year.
